President Waldron Gives Keynote at
Center's Adult Education Graduation

President Waldron was on hand to deliver the keynote address to the more than 40 resident graduates, ranging in age from 47 to 100.

Gurwin Jewish - Fay J. Lindner Residences board member and founding Gurwin Center auxiliary member Harriet Becker presented a certificate of achievement to Gurwin graduate Helen Penatzer at the 2009 Adult Education Graduation Ceremony.

Gurwin resident Sylvia Lipeles, 95, delivered the valedictory address to her fellow graduates during the Center's Adult Education Program Graduation Ceremony. "When I came to Gurwin, I had to find something to occupy my time," she said. "So, I went back to school!" The Center's Therapeutic Recreation department conducts classes throughout the year on a variety of topics chosen by the residents, culminating in the traditional cap and gown ceremony each June.
